ST. ANTHONY — Following the sale of a small hydroelectric power generator in downtown St. Anthony from Rocky Mountain Power, the new owner vows to have it repaired and producing power within six months.
The small generator, which has been inactive since 2002 except for diverting water in a canal, has two underwater turbines that can produce 700 kilowatts.
Ted Sorenson of Sorenson Engineering in Idaho Falls, the winning bidder on the project, will repair the facility and have it running in six months, according to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission.
